Our Opinion :-
For more than a decade Milenco towing mirrors have led the market, out performing all others in comparative product tests. The Milenco Aero towing mirror is the market leader and has been updated and improved to keep this product at the head of the market.. This is the best selling towing mirror in the world. It has been designed to offer superior vision and a vibration free view far past your caravan. More importantly also complies with the very latest International regulations, and far exceeds all legal requirements in every EU member state. This mirror also complies with the very latest pedestrian safety laws and is engineered to minimise injury in the event of an accident.
If towing blind in the UK, (without towing mirrors), or Non Approved mirrors you can be prosecuted by the police and given 3 points on your licence and can be fined up to £1000 per offence (each side).
Milenco claim that the Aero 3 Mirrors will fit the vast majority of Cars, vans sold in the UK, and we have not had problems with any vehicle we have tried fitting them to. They do make some special shape pads that are available as an option. These optional pads are recommended for the following cars.
Aero V Pads
The Aero V Pads have a lip on them in order for them to fit on cars like the 2010 onwards Kia Sorento.
Aero F Pads
The Aero F Pads have twin grooves for enhanced grip on typically VW group cars (Audi, Seat and Skoda) post 2013.
Aero LR Pads
The Aero LR Pads fit all 2014 onwards Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover.
Although the Standard pads as supplied with the Aero 3 mirrors will work on these vehicles the optional Pads are designed to give an enhanced grip by keying in to the gap on the vehicle mirror on these vehicles. The Law
The Law in the United Kingdom specifies you must be able to see clearly down both sides of the caravan, and see 4 meters either side of the caravan at a distance of 20 meters behind the rear of the caravan.
This in reality means, if your caravan/trailer is wider than the rear of your tow vehicle, you must fit towing mirrors to comply with the law. You can be fined up to £1000 and get 3 points on your licence for towing blind. ( We have spoken to caravanners that had received 3 points and £60 fixed penalty notices.)
On tow vehicles conforming to directive 2003/97 EC or sold after January 2007, the towing mirrors may project 25cms further than the widest part of the caravan. On tow vehicles pre dating this directive, the mirrors may project 20 cm further than the widest part of the caravan.
Since 12th of December 2005 it is a legal requirement that you have type approved (e-marked) mirrors on both sides of the tow vehicle.
All Milenco mirrors comply with the law, are type approved and correctly e-marked.
What the manufacturer Says:-
For over 20 years Milenco towing mirrors have led the market, out performing all others in comparative product tests. The first Milenco Aero towing mirror was totally new for 2007. Every year since the mirror has been updated and improved to keep this product at the head of the market and able to fit all cars, including the very latest.
This is the best-selling towing mirror in the world.
Milenco Aero3 Mirrors have been designed to offer superior vision and a vibration free view far past your caravan. It also complies with the very latest International regulations, and far exceeds all legal requirements in every EU member state. This mirror also complies with the very latest pedestrian safety laws and is engineered to minimise injury in the event of an accident.
This is a very high quality product and is manufactured with the highest quality materials available. The mirror screws are high-grade stainless steel and turn in brass inserts that will never corrode. The mirror glass is chrome safety glass, which will offer extremely long life and will not discolour after a few years.
The unique and new clamping system (patented plus international patents pending) now on the Aero 3 Mirror is further improved to have much greater grip and improved fitment. The clamps will now fit on vehicles with compound tapered flanges on the vehicle mirror housing, such as on 2016 Land Rovers, Jaguar's and BMW's. These new clamps offer an outstanding and versatile system, which is engineered to fit all current (post 1995 - 2017) cars, 4x4's and vans. This system has easy to use thumb wheels on tilting axis, which enable the clamps to 'shape' to the contours of the vehicles mirror, allowing totally versatile fitting. Another innovation of this design is the upgraded gripper system, so you do not lose the grip pads. This design also does away with unreliable straps that transfer vibration.
The mirror head design (Registered Design) utilises airflow around your car to stabilise and balance the mirror head at speed. This mirror has been extensively tested at speeds up to 250kph (155 mph), to ensure that you get the best vision possible. This design also offers superior performance in high winds and the effect of passing large commercial vehicles has been minimised.

Milenco Aero3 mirrors
Very easy to fit, I thought the clamp might not fit between the mirror and plastic surround on my car as it's quite narrow in places, but not problem at all. The clamps can be very widely spaced to give maximum stability. The mirrors can be removed and the clamps stay in place ready for re-fitting which is a bonus. They are stable at almost all speeds but still some vibration on bumpy roads which I accept. The angle of view (being convex) is ok but not as convex as myy car mirrors, so the field of view is actually less, but don't take this to mean they don't inclease your field of view overall, because being wider apart than the car mirrors, they do. They give a good view in towards the caravan and easily enable the UK leagla requirement for rearward visibility when towing to be met. They are very fit for purpose and I recommend them.
